Friends of McKinney Field

Event Updates

Check back often to find out information regarding events taking place at McKinney Field.  The turf, scoreboards, and field look amazing.  Everyone has been commenting on what a nice facility Grafton now has.  It was all because of the tremendous efforts of this community.  So we want to share with you some updates of events and post a few pictures for our out-of-town "Friends of McKinney Field".

Overhead Views of McKinney Field

We got some wonderful overhead pictures of what the field looks like from above.  Not often do you get to see the field from this point-of-view.  View all of the overhead pictures here - OverheadPictures

Football Scrimmage - Grafton Bearcats vs Petersburg Vikings - Saturday Aug. 17, 2013

A great Saturday morning for some football.  Grafton was host for a scrimmage with the Petersburg Vikings and gave the turf it's first taste of football action.  A nice crowd showed up at McKinney Field to get an early look at the 2013 Bearcats.  View more pictures of the scrimmage - Scrimmage-Petersburg

It's Almost Kickoff Time!

Can you believe we did it?  What a Community we have here in Taylor County.  School is starting and our athletes, cheerleaders, and marching band have a brand new field to be proud of.  We could not have done this without the support of the community and all of the donations that poured in to help fund this project.  The "Friends of McKinney Field" came up with the idea and each and everyone of our "friends" helped take this project from a dream to a reality in only a few months.  A big "Thanks" goes out to everyone who helped support and transform McKinney Field into a top notch state-of-the-art facility.

The GHS Marching Band - Band Camp on the new Turf

HORNS UP! - Grafton High School Bearcat Band had the privilege of taking advantage of the new turf on McKinney Field for band camp last week. Band Director Chris Rucker noted concerning his band, "I have some really hard workers. They are a lot of fun to work with." This year's field show theme is Grafton High School and the "Chocolate Factory" with songs from both the old and new stories of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Project Updates - A few pictures that chronicles the construction process for "New" McKinney Field

We could not have done this without the support of our community and the alumni of Grafton High School - Thank You!

Please check out our Construction Updates page for pictures taken throughout the construction process - Construction Updates
