Coach McKinney - McKinney was a 1929 graduate of Davis & Elkins College, where he was a three sport star and the D&E Scarlet Hurricanes' leading scorer in football and basketball his junior year. He was the head football and basketball coach at Grafton High School for 35 years, and athletic director for five years until his retirement in 1970. His 1952 and 1956 football teams won state championship titles. In 1967, Grafton High Schools football field was named in honor of his outstanding career as the Bearcats coach. He was inducted into the West Virginia Sports Hall of Fame and the Davis & Elkins Hall of Fame.
